There were four animal complaints/call-outs. A dog attacked another dog causing injury, but no medical attention was needed. A separate attack was reported involving a stray dog and a complainants’ dog on their way to work; complainant was referred to County Animal Control. Cattle spotted on Hwy22/Hwy 13, RCMP did patrol but no cattle were located at the time.
Travis Banditt Pipeline of Buck Creek reported theft of three propane bottle tiger torches, one Stihl chainsaw, a two-inch water pump, two cases of motor oil, and approximately 600 L of diesel. A three-year-old French male bulldog was reported stolen after it went missing on the 18th of July, from the Buck Lake campsite. This has led to another issue; a complainant was received a call from someone asking for $1,000, and they would get their dog back; but information acquired has indicated that past reports on the Internet show this is a possible scam.
The theft of a 2007 Baha 125 dirt runner was reported on July 23rd from the Buck Lake area, a report was made in regards to vandalism and theft from a few campsites in the Breton area and finally, a wallet was recently taken from a vehicle parked at the Buck Creek gravel pit. Please keep your valuables in a safe place, and out of sight.
A report of an asphalt truck that backed into complainant’s vehicle was received. The driver of the truck was issued a ticket for backing up unsafely and there were no injuries to report.
A single vehicle rollover occurred on Hwy 20, seven kilometres south of Hwy 616. An older passenger of the vehicle was found conscious and breathing, but disorientated after receiving a laceration to the head; the driver was found to have minor cuts. A vehicle was run into in the parking lot of the Alsike Gas Station; no injuries to report and no charges were laid.
Two complaints made this week’s report regarding loud music and loud behavior. Both incidents were dealt with without incidence. Two possible impaired calls came in, patrols were sent out but in either incident, no vehicles were found. One young male was charged with impaired after leaving the Twin Lakes Campground. Several calls for erratic and/or speeding vehicles were received however all calls were inconclusive.
Three false alarms occurred. Please be advised that alarm sensors can be adjusted to take into consideration movement of pets; ask your security representative about this feature. Also, please monitor your children’s activities regarding telephone use, especially cell phones; any miss dialed 911 call still has to be taken seriously and investigated.
