Rimbey, a small community with a big heart, promises to be a hot spot of fun and activity on Canada Day.
The reasons to celebrate Canada Day are as diverse as the people themselves and in Rimbey, as in other communities throughout the nation, the celebration carries with it, a common denominator.
It’s fun.
The day will start off with the usual delicious pancake breakfast to be held at Pas-Ka-Poo Park from 8 until 11 a.m.
Canada Day fun activities will get underway around 9 a.m. and will include mini-golf, barrel train rides, horse drawn wagon rides, donkey rides and inflatables, a tattoo artist and a souvenir booth. A children’s DJ will also be on hand.
At 1 p.m. the formal segment of the day will begin with speeches and the singing of O Canada. The Rimbey branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be included in the opening ceremonies.
Cake and ice cream will be served later in the day.
Everyone is invited to take part in the festivities, dress up in the familiar red and white, sport a Canada flag, chat with friends, and just relax and enjoy celebrating the great country in which we live.
