Chamber revises membership fees

Rimbey and District Chamber of Commerce is looking at new ways to boost membership.

Rimbey and District Chamber of Commerce is looking at new ways to boost membership.

At a general meeting held last Tuesday at Best Western Rimstone Ridge Hotel members agreed to go with bronze, silver or gold memberships.

A $95 bronze membership will provide a listing on the website directory, eligibility for the chamber group insurance plan, newsletters, business alerts and community updates. Bronze members will also receive a discount on coupon book advertising, a membership to Alberta Chamber of Commerce and Canadian Chamber of Commerce, and a membership certificate and card.

A silver membership available for $130 will provide all the benefits of the bronze package as well as a full profile displayed in the chamber newsletter. The profile will also be posted on the chamber website for a month.

A gold or corporate membership available for $350 will include being listed as a sponsor on each web page of the chamber website, a sponsor logo on each chamber newsletter and their logo will be included as a sponsor on chamber stationery. Gold members will also receive all the benefits in the bronze and silver packages.

All chamber members receive a discount on trade fair booth rentals.

Chamber president Jackie Stratton is pleased with the plan.

“It’s a good looking plan,” she said. “It’s very detailed and it provides value for our members. It’s extremely competitive with other chambers of our size.”

Rimbey chamber now has around 48 members. Presently, businesses pay for membership on a sliding scale related to their size and number of employees.

The gold, silver and bronze membership plan is to go into effect in the new year.
