All that remains

When a fire call came in around 4 p.m. March 26 concerning a farm building, Rimbey Fire and Rescue were in the Gull Lake area with a snowmobile accident.

By the time they got to east of Hoadley on Secondary Highway 611 and Range Road 20 a 1,500 square foot building was beyond saving, all that could be done was to save the house and control the fire.

It melted the siding on the house; chickens were in an attached shack. Some did not survive the heat but the majority were rescued as they crowded at a wire fence.

All other animals were moved to safety.
