The governments of Canada and Alberta provided a combined investment of $16 million for Valley View Manor, under the investment in Affordable Housing 2014-2019 Agreement.

On Sept.19, this investment was realized during a special celebration that marked the grand opening of the new manor.

Officials from the provincial and federal governments took part in the celebration.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation affordable housing consultant Dany Skelling said it was a big day for Valley View Manor.

He thanked Rimoka Housing Foundation for their vision and support.

“It’s all about partnership and co-operation,” he said, adding that Valley View Manor was a beautiful facility.

“It has 80 units and every window has a beautiful view.”

Kim Schreiner, MLA for Red Deer-North said she was proud to be part of a government that recognizes seniors’ well-being.

“Residents, welcome home,” she said.
