Central Alberta Raceways has another AED on site for visitors if needed thanks to a local organization.

The Gull Lake North Citizens on Patrol have donated an AED they found themselves in possession of but weren’t utilizing.

“We were graced with two machines from the Rimbey Lions Club a few years ago and over the elapsed time we had very limited use of either,” says Ted Jamieson of the Full Lake Citizen’s of Patrol. So instead of letting them go unused the group reached out to the community to see if anyone else could use them.

“This past spring we inquired of the local businesses if they might be able to put an AED in their business,” says Jamison. “Jorges Hot Spot, a local convenience store at The Summer Village of Parkland Beach agreed they would accept one which would be a lot more visible and closer to a likely high number of people and possible users in emergencies.”

They also approached other business in the area to see if they needed any, including Central Alberta Raceways.

Central Alberta Raceways will be using the second AED in the town and pit area.
