The Rimbey Lions Club is doing its part to help out the Rimbey Library.
Last week, the Lions Club made a commitment to donate $1,100 a year for the next five years to pay for the public performance rights for the library movie nights.
Librarian Jean Keetch said the Lions Club had contacted her to inquire how they could financially assist the library and she suggested funding for the library movie nights.
“It is wonderful that they agreed to help us out,” she said.
Library movie nights are a popular event at the library.
The last movie shown was Bohemian Rhapsody, an adult movie about the popular band, Queen.
Children’s movies are usually shown the first Thursday of the month and occasionally two movies per month are shown.
Movies are shown at the library every Thursday in the summer.
