A beautification project, including a park and walkway, proposed by the Masons in Rimbey is now underway.

Kitchener Lodge No. 95 has already installed the bridge west of the soccer fields south of town and five-foot Swedish Aspens and Spruce trees are to be planted later this spring and the area seeded with grass.

The park and walkway are to be three to four year projects, but the base of the trail is completed and will be graveled later this spring.

To raise money for the project which is estimated to cost twelve to fourteen thousand dollars, St. Albert Singers Guild will perform at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre on Sat., June 7 at 8 p.m. A dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Verla Carter, general manager of the singers guild said the group, which has been in existence for almost 30 years plan to perform a variety of songs. They will also bring a narrator with them to keep the entertainment moving.

“We enjoy supporting community events and are very excited to come to Rimbey.”
