UPDATE: All lanes have reopened

Emergency crews are on the scene of a collision at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 4 in the northbound lane on Hwy. 2 just at the secondary Hwy. 611 overpass.

Ponoka County East District Fire Department, Ponoka Integrated Traffic Unit and EMS attended the scene.

Injuries are unknown at this time but are likely minor.

Traffic is being detoured off of Hwy. 2 back to the Hwy. 611 exit, and then back on to Hwy. 2.

The fire department says the roads are extremely slick and icy due to wintry conditions and advises drivers to proceed with caution and to take their time getting to their destinations this morning.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
