Rimbey New Life Fellowship has a new pastor at its helm.

Pastor Jeremy Willment, his wife, Melody, who is also a pastor, and the couple’s seven children, ranging in age from 21-years to one and a half months-old, moved to Rimbey in November.

Willment said the family is very happy here.

“When we pulled into the community it just felt right,” he said.

Willment, who was born in Lloydminster, moved to Hudson Hope, B.C. when he was five-years-old.

As an adult he spent some time as a cowboy, training horses and working with leather, making belts and boots and other items.

However, about 15 years ago he got a calling to go into the ministry.

“I got called off the back of my horse to go be a pastor,” he said with a chuckle.

Prior to coming to Rimbey the Willments planted a church at Nut Mountain and another at Conquest, Saskatchewan.

Now settled in Rimbey, Pastor Jeremy wants the community to know he and his wife are available to have a visit at any time and are also on call for anyone who needs spiritual help.

“We are available to the community in whatever capacity they need us,” he said. “We do want to see the church thrive and go, but we are not looking at filling the church building as much as filling the needs of the community.”

Rimbey New Life Fellowship’s phone number is 403-843-3336.
