RCMP investigate theft from gas company

.

Rimbey RCMP responded to more than 54 calls for service last week, the theme of this week appeared to be traffic collisions.

Mounties also investigated a few theft complaints, including an internal theft from a local gas company, that investigation is ongoing.

Band equipment on the run

RCMP also investigated “the day the music died,” or at least when musical equipment was stolen from a local band. It turns out the equipment was taken by an ex-band member and the matter was a civil issue, but for a little while the RCMP believed they might have seen the end of noise complaints.

Reported missing, now home

RCMP were also kept busy dealing with missing and suicidal people. All people where found and returned to their loved ones, or to the hospital for care.

Horsemen investigate cow death

With the assistance of a veterinarian, RCMP investigated the suspicious death of a cow. The end result of the investigation was that the cow died in a strange but natural way.

Some people you just can’t reach

Instead of concluding investigations, this past court date resulted in police conducting a few more investigations.

The first issue: a male who pleaded guilty to impaired driving and had just signed his driving prohibition order, was witnessed by the court clerk getting into the driver’s seat of a vehicle and driving away. A warrant is being sought for this intelligent person’s arrest.

The second issue was another man, obviously upset over the amount of charges he is facing, got so drunk after making his first court appearance that he was arrested for public intoxication and taken to the drunk tank to sober up.

Another fuel theft

The RCMP received another report of a large quantity of fuel being stolen from heavy equipment. The public is being asked that if they witness any suspicious vehicles around heavy equipment, to record vehicle description including licence plate if possible and contact the police immediately.
