Peter Stenstrom, Rimbey’s recreation director will soon be off to pursue a new and challenging career.

“I have a passion for mission work and there is a lot of need there,” he said. “It is something that I want to pursue long term.”

His year as recreation director in Rimbey has been enjoyable and a learning experience, he said.

“I’ve absolutely enjoyed my time in Rimbey and I have learned so much.”

Expanding the fitness centre, being instrumental in bringing the Boys and Girls Club to town and introducing new programs are among the accomplishments he is most proud of.

“I think we’ve done some really good things here. I truly believe Rimbey is on an upswing. Both councils I’ve worked with are committed to improving Rimbey and willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.”

Stenstrom is married to Ashley and couple has two children; three-year-old Nathan and seven-month-old Luke.
