The Smithson International Truck Museum was the site of the Rimbey Historical Society’s annual general meeting Feb. 16.

The new executive is: president Emil Steiger, vice-president Lloyd Barberree, secretary Bernice Birtsch, treasurer Maurice Moore and directors Dan Pregoda, Harvey Goetz, Dan Krossa, Kevin Lawson, Harold Kenney, and Dave Keay. The town representative on the board is Dave Karroll.

Members also heard a number of committee reports and discussed the possibility of constructing a new building for storage and a library featuring books and artifacts from the past.

“The meeting went well. I think we got enough people on board this time and it looks good to me,” said Steiger. “We have some plans for another building but that all depends on if we get the grants we applied for because the government is cutting a back a bit now.”

The next board meeting for the society is March 16 at the museum.
