Rimbey Hospital Ladies Auxiliary Group continues to raise money to purchase necessary equipment for the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre.

“Both our boards, the (Hospital) Legacy and the Auxiliary, are putting back money into patient care and needs, comforts and services at the hospital and the long term care,” said Auxiliary President Kim Trautman.

The Ladies Auxiliary Group recently donated $7,000 to the Rimbey Hospital Legacy Foundation, another avenue that supports patient and staff care at the hospital. The money will go towards buying the last two lifts needed for the hospital.

“The Legacy Fund needed another $7,000 to finish buying the last two lifts that the hospital needed, so we donated the $7,000 to them so that the hospital would then have a lift in every patient room,” said Trautman.

The Auxiliary has already purchased lifts in the past, but Trautman said it takes them a while to raise those funds.

The ladies’ most recent fundraiser was through a Christmas Bazaar, where they raised $700.

The next fundraiser is a 50/50 draw, which will take place on May 10 at their Strawberry Tea event at the Rimbey Drop-In Centre. Tickets will be sold by the Auxiliary group at the Co-op entrance starting in January.

“Those are the major fundraisers that we do,” said Trautman.

Some of the ladies have been on the board for 30 plus years raising money and looking after patient care and needs. Just over 20 are on the board.

“The ladies have done a lot over the years.”
