Members of the community can enjoy an afternoon or evening to kick off the holiday season by viewing the lights at local businesses around Rimbey’s PasKaPoo Park during the annual Santa Night & the Festival of Lights on Nov. 24.
Put on by PasKaPoo and the Town of Rimbey Recreation Department, the event will run from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“We ask local businesses and organizations to decorate a building at the park,” said Katherine Winters, one of the Santa Night committee members who helps put the event on.
Families will have the opportunity to take a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy free hot dogs, hot chocolate and candy canes. Kids will also receive candy bags.
“It’s all done by donations from different organizations.”
People are encouraged to bring a donation for the Rimbey Food Bank to stuff the sleigh, which the Rimbey Sleigh, Wagon and Saddle Club will be bringing out to the event.
