In the last week Rimbey RCMP responded to 42 calls for service. These calls include but are not limited to: two suspicious vehicle reports; three break and enter files; and two reports of theft.
In the early morning hours of December 24th, RCMP received a call regarding a missing person. A Rimbey male in his early 20s reportedly left a house party and had not made contact with anyone since. The caller was concerned that the male, having left the party intoxicated, may not be aware of his location or of a safe route home. Thankfully he was located unharmed later that same day,
On December 20th the Rimbey Detachment was informed of a traffic complaint involving an SUV and a semi truck. The complainant witnessed the SUV driving erratically and saw the driver attempt to pass a semi-truck on a hill in an area with a double solid line, forcing the semi to abruptly brake to avoid a collision. The complainant, rather shocked at this behavior, informed police and asked that the driver be warned about dangerous driving.
If you witness a dangerous driver, please call the local RCMP Detachment with as much information as you can safely get, including make and model of the vehicle, the license plate, and the location and direction of travel.
