Rimbey area residents against current COVID-19 mandates held a rally in Rimbey Jan. 29, 2022.
Supporters and organizers said it’s a show of support for drivers and a way to protest the COVID-19 vaccine mandates that came into effect on Jan. 15, for truckers that cross the Canada-U.S. border.
In other parts of the country and Alberta, organized freedom rallies were also held, including a convoy from Calgary to Edmonton.
In Lacombe residents lined the downtown core in support. A group left British Columbia on the Jan. 22 weekend, and have been joined by other supporters and drivers from across Canada before arriving in the capital on Jan. 29.
