Rimbey’s RCMP detachment saw a drastic slowdown in calls between Sept. 15 and 22.

In a media release issued Sept. 22, 2022, the Rimbey RCMP detachment reported under 30 calls for service in the one-week period. The number is down from a high of over 60 during August.

On the roads, officers responded to three traffic accidents, two involving animals. One suspicious person/vehicle was called in as well. No traffic tickets were issued during the period.

Two individuals were charged with either driving impaired or failing to comply with the mandatory roadside alcohol screening program.

As far as criminal matters go, officers responded to one report of break and enter and another report of theft. One individual was charged with possession of property obtained by crime. One complaint under the Trespass Act was investigated as well.

For non-criminal matters, RCMP officers conducted one well being check, investigated two lost-and-found files, attended one call involving an animal complaint, and provided assistance to the general public once.
