Recently, Rimbey RCMP responded to 45 calls for service. These files include, but are not limited to: two thefts of vehicles, five suspicious activity complaints, one assault with a weapon investigation, two missing persons reports, and one break and enter investigation.

On February 14 at approximately 10:35 p.m. officers received a complaint of an abandoned skid steer at a local gas station. The skid steer had been used to break open the change compartment on the air distributor machine. The skid steer had been stolen from a nearby business and was retrieved by the owner.

While on patrol on Saturday February 15 at approximately 1:30 a.m. an officer performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that was seen leaving the rodeo. The driver provided a sample into an approved screening device which resulted in a “FAIL”. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing and has since been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and operation of a motor vehicle over the legal limit and is to appear in Rimbey Court on April 4, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.

Rimbey RCMP would like to reinforce to the public the importance of remaining diligent in keeping property locked up and secure. Thieves are often looking for an easy target so please keep vehicles locked and take valuables out of your vehicle. RCMP also request that the public continue to report suspicious activity but keep in mind that a complainant must be prepared to participate, if needed, in the investigation.
