In the last week, Rimbey RCMP responded to 42 calls for service. These files include, but are not limited to: four mental health related calls, two impaired driving investigations, three thefts of vehicles, and two assault complaints.

On May 17 at 2 p.m. officers were dispatched to a complaint of an erratic driver. Witnesses report the vehicle turned into the Parkland Beach on the shoulder on the wrong side of the road. The driver then swerved to shoulder of the proper lane and continued to swerve almost colliding with an SUV before stopping at a nearby store. Officers quickly responded and located the vehicle just after it had left the store. The male driver was arrested and has been charged with impaired operation and operation over the legal limit. He is scheduled to appear in Rimbey court on July 8.

Sometime between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. on the night of May 18 a quad was stolen from a camping spot on Medicine Lake Road. The victim parked the quad for the night and took the keys with him and when he awoke the next morning his 2015 yellow and black Can am DS-450 was gone. The ATV had not been recovered to date.
