Rimbey RCMP respond to 44 calls for service last week

The files include three assault investigations and one assault with a weapon occurrence

In the last week, Rimbey RCMP responded to 44 calls for service. These files include, but are not limited to: three assault investigations, one assault with a weapon occurrence, five break and enters, and three recovered stolen vehicles.

On July 21st, 2020 at approximately 12:30 p.m. officers responded to a dispatch of an assault. A disagreement began between two males over the sale of a truck and escalated quickly to a physical altercation, and threats being uttered. One male has been charged with assault with a weapon, and the other male has been charged with uttering threats. Both accused are to appear in Rimbey court on October 7, 2020.

A break and enter occurred sometime during the night of July 24th at a business in Rimbey. When staff arrived the next morning they discovered the front gate at the business had been smashed open and a white 2005 Ford SRW was stolen. A different white Ford welding truck was recovered just down the road from the location of the break and enter, this truck had recently been reported stolen in Devon and was recovered with damage to the ignition and front tire.
