In the last week, Rimbey RCMP responded to 42 calls for service. These files include, but are not limited to: two thefts of motor vehicles, four mischief investigations, three mental health related complaints, two missing person’s occurrences, and two assault with weapon investigations.

On May 27th 2020 a motorcycle was found abandoned in the trees on private property on Township Road 422. Officers attended and discovered that the motorcycle had been reported stolen at the end of March from Red Deer. The 2018 Honda motorcycle had minor damage upon recovery, was seized, and the registered owner notified.

On May 31st 2020 at approximately 1:40 a.m. officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision/suspicious activity call. Witnesses reported hearing tires screeching, a vehicle hitting a light pole, and a person was witnessed running from the scene. Upon arrival officers discovered a red van near a light pole with significant damage, and the occupant(s) of the vehicle were no longer on scene. The officer was advised by the registered owner that the vehicle must have been stolen a short time earlier. This incident is currently still under investigation.
