There is a saying ‘many hands make light work’.

That was true on Saturday, May the 1st when the Blindman Valley Lions Club and three young volunteers (Meikenna Newman and Trey and Denver Allen) got together.

This group of volunteers cleaned the ditches of trash from the Rimbey Ball diamonds to the new land of Rimbey Fish and Game (formally the old golf course), around the corner and south to Lockhart Dairy.

“A job we honestly wish no one had to do,” noted a release. “It’s heartbreaking to see so much disregard for your own backyard. We have a great community here and we all need to do our part in keeping it great.

“Please don’t litter. Thank you to all the people on the road who kindly slowed down and gave a thumbs up or a wave. Your courtesy was appreciated.”

Thank you to the County of Ponoka work crew that put out signs to keep us safe and for promptly picking up the trash bags when the job was done.

Also a special thank you to the three young volunteers who helped our environment.
