The only change happening at the Canalta Hotel in Rimbey, (the former Super 8) is the sign.
General manager Konnie Meissner said the hotel is owned and operated by the same people.
“Everything is exactly the same,” she said.
Meissner said the hotel has always been a Canalta Hotel, but operated as a Super 8.
Recently Canalta has begun using its own brand.
“Ponoka and Rocky were changed just before this one,” she said.
Canalta Hotels has 38 hotels across Alberta and Saskatchewan. The family owned business began with just one hotel in 1976.
