This week, Rimbey RCMP detachment responded to 58 calls for service. These files include but are not limited to; one break and enter, four assault related offences, and three mental health related calls for service.

On June 27, RCMP responded to an assault complaint where a witness reported seeing three people fighting at a residence. When officers arrive on scene all participants had dispersed. At the same residence on June 29, 2018 RCMP received multiple calls of a disturbance in progress. Officers attended and initiated an investigation into an alleged assault. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Criminal charges are pending.

On July 1 at approximately 3:15 in the morning residents of a home in Meridian Beach were woken up by the sound of their dog barking. They looked outside and witnessed people running from their garage to a white SUV which immediately fled the scene. Upon further inspection the homeowners discovered that the house was entered through an unlocked attached garage and a wallet was stolen from inside the home.

The RCMP request the cooperation of homeowners to help reduce property crime by locking up their property, removing valuables from vehicles, and reporting all suspicious activity to the RCMP when you see it.
