Ponoka woman and Sylvan Lake man see assault charges withdrawn

Charges against a Ponoka woman and a Sylvan Lake man in connection with a home invasion and assault that occurred this spring were withdrawn in Rimbey Provincial Court on Oct. 23.

Samantha Leone Lewis, 32, of Ponoka was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats and fail to comply with a probation order. Tyson Richard Ethier, 24, of Sylvan Lake was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats and two counts of fail to comply with a probation order.

“The matter was withdrawn on the basis of a lack of co-operation from the civilian involved,” said Crown Prosecutor Stephen Hill.

On Nov. 6, charges of aggravated assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats were stayed against Jimmy Delane Morsette.
