Rimbey town council will hold meetings at 5 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month going forward.

At its Tuesday meeting, which was held at 1 p.m. council discussed the times of council meetings.

Previously, there had been some discussion about the meetings which were held at 3 and 5 p.m. Some people had voiced concern that the time wasn’t convenient for business people.

However, only one written complaint was received, although the matter was tabled for a few weeks.

Mayor Rick Pankiw said he didn’t believe the time of the meetings was a major issue, based on the minimal complaints received.

“I’m not sure it’s a problem,” he said.

However, Coun. Gayle Rondeel noted the 3 p.m. meeting coincided with the school children using the library and it could get noisy in the building.

Council agreed to hold the meetings at 5 p.m. in the future, noting that a consistent 5 p.m. time would be logical.
