Traffic in the Winfield and Breton areas is snarled after a two vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeled truck Nov. 5.

According to RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Laurel Scott, “The RCMP with emergency services are on scene at a serious two vehicle collision north of the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 20.

“Both north and southbound traffic on Highway 20 is currently being re-routed through the town of Winfield. Highway 13 traffic is still getting through the area.

“The collision involves a semi tractor trailer unit which has rolled.

“Traffic is expected to be diverted for several hours. A collision analyst is en route to the collision scene to conduct an examination. The RCMP responded to this collision at 10:50 a.m., and there are no further details available.

“Icy road conditions are determined to be an issue in this area. Highway 770 is slick and motorists are having difficulty navigating the hill at Highway 770 and Township Road 502.

“Alternate travel routes are recommended.”
