In the last week Rimbey RCMP responded to 51 calls for service. These calls include but are not limited to: six suspicious person or vehicle files; four reports of stolen vehicles; three impaired driving complaints; and nine reports of theft.

Rimbey RCMP were able to arrest a couple of individuals this past week that are associated to a number of thefts in the area. After receiving a report on April 23 that a vehicle had been stolen on Main Street while it was left running, RCMP in cooperation from some local businesses were able to clearly identify a male suspect from video footage. The male, of no fixed address was later located while officers were out on patrol. He was arrested and held for a bail hearing, and is to appear in Rimbey court on May 3.

The other suspect, a female also of no fixed address, was arrested on April 30th for her involvement in numerous thefts in Rimbey, including shoplifting and possession of a stolen vehicle. She was charged with possession of stolen property and is to appear in Rimbey court on July 5.

Pets, like their owners, love to spend some time outdoors as the weather gets warmer. However, make sure to be cautious when putting pets out in the yard for their daily dose of fresh air. RCMP received a complaint this past week that a dog was set loose after their leash was allegedly cut while tied up in the yard. Best to air on the side of caution and keep an eye on your furry family members while they’re outside.
