Rimbey RCMP respond to 42 calls for service

RCMP calls for service jumped a bit the week of Oct. 13 to Oct. 20.

Responding to 42 calls for service, the busiest category for the RCMP officers serving in Rimbey this week was on the highways and roads of the region.

Officers responded to seven suspicious persons or vehicle complaints, one traffic collision, one animal versus vehicle collision and issued four traffic tickets. Officers also charged one driver with an impaired or refusing to comply with the mandatory alcohol screening.

In criminal matters, officers responded to one assault, two break-and-enters, two complaints of mischief, laid two charges of possession of property obtained by crime, investigated two complaints of fraud or extortion, two complaints of trespassing and one complaint of disturbing the peace.

For other policing matters, officers provided general assistance to the public twice, dealt with a lost-and-found item, conducted one well being check and responded to one sudden death.
