Weekly update from Rimbey RCMP

Update for week ending Nov. 10, 2022

The officers working out of the Rimbey RCMP detachment had a slower week to start November.

Responding to 36 calls for service, officers were busiest with policing matters which fall outside of traffic or criminal violations.

In between Nov. 3 and Nov. 10, officers provided general assistance to the public five times, responded to four sudden death calls, two mental health calls, dealt with two lost-and-found matters and conducted one well-being check.

That isn’t to say that officers weren’t on the highways, however. Officers responded to three traffic collisions, one animal versus vehicle collision and issued three traffic violations. No suspicious vehicles or impaired drivers were reported during this period.

As for matters of criminal code, things were light for the officers of the detachment. Officers responded to two complaints of uttering threats, one assault, one break-and-enter, three reports of theft and one complaint of trespassing. No reports of mischief or fraud were reported during this period.

To report a crime in the Rimbey area, minor issues can be reported through the RCMP app, available on all Apple and Android devices, or by calling the 24-hour non-emergency line at 403-843-2223.

If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.p3tips.com or via the P3 Tips app, also available on apple and Android devices.

In the case of emergency, call 911.
