A welding truck with $15,000 worth in tools stolen from a Ponoka home on Nov. 19 has since been recovered, but is a complete write-off.
RCMP were called to a home on 53 St. following a report that a 2000 white Dodge 3500 truck had been stolen sometime between 1 and 3 a.m. The owner of the truck called police when he went outside at 6 a.m. and found the truck gone.
Inside the truck was about $15,000 worth of tools along with a welder and skid unit.
The truck was later recovered by RCMP in the Rimbey area with major damage having been done during the theft. A stolen plate from another vehicle was also found in the back.
The vehicle’s actual license plate was missing, though was recovered later in the Edmonton area along with some of the tools.
