Wetaskiwin liquor store robbed Feb. 21

Two suspects arrested after store employee threatened with bear spray

On February 21st, 2018 Wetaskiwin RCMP received a complaint of an armed robbery at South Side Liquor Store.

Police were advised that the male suspect allegedly threatened to bear spray the employee prior to leaving with a bottle of liquor. The employee was not bear sprayed and did not sustain any injuries.

Police attended South Side Liquor Store and, through further investigation, revealed that a second suspect was also involved in the robbery.

A short time later, RCMP identified and arrested both suspects without incident. The bear spray was also recovered.

Both suspects have been charged with armed robbery and were released with a pending court date.
