February 21, 2019
On Feb 21, 2019 Alan passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Elmerine of 26 years, and two sons Derek (Christy) their children Alex, Tessa, Brooklyn, Ryder and Corbin from Wetaskiwin and Dale (Crystal) of Innisfail.

He is predeceased by his parents Norma and Albert Yarbrough and his son Dallas.

Alan was born in Delburne, and raised on the family farm where he enjoyed his horses and played many an hour at the local hockey rink. When he was older he worked at various jobs before taking up residence in Bashaw working on the railway where Darla and him started their family. They moved to Red Deer and Alan's trucking career began and continued to 2017.

In 1992 he married Elmerine and they started their farming venture first by Red Deer and then moving to the Rimbey area. He enjoyed saddling his horse and checking the cows or working on his machinery or cutting the first hay crop of the year.

He was lucky enough to do some travelling taking him to Europe, then having the opportunity to truck from Alaska to Wyoming, but he enjoyed his camping trips, hunting and the trips he would make to YaHa Tinda with the horses. His most enjoyment was the grandkids when they would come and spend time on the farm.

His last years he got to farm full time, he enjoyed visiting with the neighbors happy to discuss farming, horses and of course planting the next year crops.

Alan enjoyed the simple life so at his request there will be no funeral but a Celebration of his Life, which will be held in May.

We would like to thank the staff at the Red Deer Cancer Clinic and the Red Deer Regional Hospital for their support and care of Alan.
