PILSON

Mr. Albert James Pilson (Jim) of Gull Lake, Alberta passed away in the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Wednesday October 12, 2011 at the age of 64 years after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born on February 3, 1947 in Vancouver, B.C. to Jack and Elsie Pilson. Jim entered the R.C.M.P shortly after graduating from high school. His first posting was to Fort Vermilion, AB where he met his wife, Mary, a young Irish nurse. A few years after they married they were blessed with two children: a daughter, Tara and then a son, Kieran. Jim was posted to Grande Prairie, Fort MacLeod, Wainwright and finally Red Deer, where he retired as a Sergeant in 1996. He then took on the task of building a family home at Gull Lake, Alberta where he started to enjoy early retirement. He and Mary also became snow birds, spending their winters in Arizona. For anyone who knew Jim they knew he had a passion for model railroad. Ever since he was a small child he spent hours building and perfecting his layouts. He also loved to travel and was able to see many beautiful places with his family. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his children and grandchildren: Tara and Lee Gwinn and their children, Easton, Holden and Kinsley; and Kieran and Jaymie Pilson and their son, James. He is also survived by his dear cousins, Sherree Morrison and Beverly March. Jim was predeceased by his parents. Funeral services were held from Wilson's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium in Rimbey, Alberta on Monday October 17, 2011 with Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre PO Box 440 Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0.
