Albert Ronald “Bert” Hankins passed away at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre, Lacombe on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the age of 69 years, after a long battle with cancer.
Bert was born on September 23, 1942 to Erastus and Lily Hankins at Bentley, Alberta. He lived his entire life doing what he loved best … farming.

Bert will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Hilda; four sisters: Elsie, Jean, Bonnie, and Janet; and two brothers: Richard and George; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Bert was predeceased by his father, Erastus; his mother, Lily; two sisters: Irene and Myrtle; and three brothers: James, Charles, and Robert.
A Memorial Tea in Bert’s Honour was held at the Forshee Hall on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Bert’s Memory may be made directly to the Lending Cupboard Society, 5406C – 43 Street, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 1C9.
