April 4, 2022
In loving memory ~
Alice Louise Neumeier passed away on April 4, 2022 from complications associated with Parkinson's Disease. She was 69 years old.
Alice faced the challenges of her illness with grace and determination. Through her example, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. She was clear about what was important to her and regardless of what was taken from her by this disease, she was true to her values right to the end of her life.
Alice is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Barry Neumeier, sons Jason (Leanne) Vig and Kevin (Chandra) Vig, and her five grandchildren, Davin, Kelsey, McKenna, Aviana and Berrik.
Alice is also survived by her mother, Louise Miller, sisters Lorraine (Al) Palmer, Carol (Harvey) Moore, Helen (Jack) Fuchko and families, and Barry's parents, Everall and Doreen Neumeier, sister Betty (Rick) Prieston, and nephew Chad (Gwen) Neumeier, and extended family. She was predeceased by her father, Chester Miller in 2003.
Alice was born in Lacombe, AB and lived most of her life in the Bentley area. Alice loved living in the country and sitting in her house looking at the view of the Sunset Hills. She had over a 35-year career in insurance at Bentley Agencies and when she wasn't working, Alice and Barry enjoyed many Canadian and National Finals Rodeos, Ponoka Stampedes, Christmas trips to Banff with the grandchildren, and travelling to sunny destinations. Alice shared her love for horses, playing the piano and wiener roasts with her grandchildren, and could always be found cheering them on at dance competitions, music recitals and sporting events.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the nurses and health care aids at the Rimbey Long Term Care Centre Area 3 for their compassionate care of Alice over the past year.
In Lieu of flowers, if so desired charitable donations can be made in Alice's name to the Parkinson's Association of Alberta, https://parkinsonassociation.ca/, or to STARS Air Ambulance, https://stars.ca/
Alice's family invites you to join them for a memorial service at Blindman Valley Ag Centre, 5202 53 Street, Bentley, AB on Friday June 10th at 11:00 am. All are welcome. Her ashes will be scattered at a future date.
