BECKLEY
Mrs. Annie (Connolley) Beckley of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre ~ Area One, Rimbey on Friday, November 27, 2009 at the age of 95 years.
Annie was born in Sturgis, Saskatchewan on the home farm on December 18, 1913. She was the third daughter of thirteen children born to Onufrey and Domna Palaniuk. She was united in marriage to Harold Connolley on July 4, 1945. Together they farmed at Berwyn, Alberta and raised five boys. Harold passed away on November 20, 1961, at the age of 52 years. Annie married Peter Beckley on December 4, 1980, and they resided in the Bentley and Rimbey areas until his passing on December 26, 1993. Annie remained in Rimbey in her own home until illness necessitated placement in Rimbey Continuing Care, where she remained until her passing.
Annie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her five sons, Gilbert (Ede) of Olds; David (Jean) of Berwyn; Ed (Shirley) also of Berwyn; Ken (Colleen) of Rimbey; and Gordon (Lorraine) of Bentley; in addition to nineteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by two brothers, James (Violet) Palaniuk; and Fred (Ethel) Palaniuk, both of Sturgis, Saskatchewan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Annie's Life was held at the Rimbey Church of the Nazarene, Rimbey on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dave MacMillan officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. A Family Interment Service will take place at a later date in the Berwyn Cemetery ~ Legion Field of Honor, Berwyn, Alberta.
