BRUNS, Annie Katherine
1921 - 2017
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Annie Katherine Bruns, fondly known as Nana, of Lacombe, at the age of 95. Annie was born on Feb 25, 1921 in Stettler, AB. Annie was a wonderful mother, grand-mother, great grandmother and friend. She cherished spending time with her family and friends. She loved to dance and travel with her husband, Gus. Winters were enjoyed in sunny Yuma, AZ. She was known for her fondness of rye and milk! Annie will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Mae (Jim) Sprague; brother, Bud (Marge) Erickson; son, Gary (Marcia) Bruns; son, Jim (Phyllis) Bruns; daughter, Karen (Bert) Lehmann; ten grandchildren, Christina, Jeremy, Shaun, Ryan, Lisa, Lindsey, Carla, Susie, Sarah, and Jay; fifteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Annie was predeceased by her husband and soul mate, Gus; daughter, Kate Phelan; her parents; brother, Lief Erickson; and sister, Irene Toivanen. In lieu of flowers, perform a simple act of kindness in her honour or donate to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation at www.stollerykids.com. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff in Area 2 of the Rimbey Hospital for their support in her final years. A Celebration of Annie's Life will be held at a later date.
