Mrs. Anne Ring of Rimbey passed away peacefully at the Gull Lake Special Care Centre on November 11, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Anne was born in Eindhoven, Holland Feb 28, 1938. At the age of 14 she, her parents and five siblings immigrated to Canada in 1952 to the Medicine Hat area. Anne learned English from the best teachers in the world (her own words). The five children from the family that hired her to care for them when she came to Canada.
Anne later worked in the children's ward at the Medicine Hat Hospital. In 1957 Anne met Walter Ring and united in marriage in 1958. Shortly there after relocated to the Rimbey area to raise their family. Anne had volunteered with numerous organizations: Canadian Girls in Training which she developed life long friendships, she was a member of the Lions/Lioness Club for many years, FCSS, driving boys to hockey and soccer games as well as volunteering in the extended care unit in Rimbey, Alberta.
Anne decided to get her GED after moving to Canada and then went onto acquire her Real Estate license, was a Book Keeper for Ring Plumbing and was later elected to town Council in Rimbey.
Anne was predeceased by: her husband Walter who passed away July 1/2011, Kay Meyer (sister). Anne leaves to mourn her passing her three sons, Harry Ring, and his wife Kim of Eastend, Sk and their three daughters, Tatyana Ring, (Mike) Loisha Ring and Saskia Ring; John Ring, and his wife Judy of Powell River B.C and their sons, Dustin Ring and Kristopher Ring (Becky) and her one and only great grandchild Bryson Walter Ring; Jim Ring and his wife Beth of Wiarton, Ontario, and their two children, Adam Ring and Talitha Ring. She leaves behind (brother) Jake Meyer and his wife Ann of Indian Head, Sask, (sister) Olga Elemans and her husband Jeff, Holland, Hilda Meyer and Trudy Meyer Ellsworth of Rimbey, Alberta; numerous nieces and nephews and friends; and her
special friends for many, many years, Peter and Jean Warta. Anne always stated that her best accomplishment was her three sons and their families. Her boys and their families take great pride in their mom, mom in law, Grandma, Grannie and Great Grandma. She lived her life well and will be missed by them.
With respect to Anne's wishes there will be no funeral service held as she will live on in our memories. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
