The family of Arnold Wayne Hood of Ponoka County, Alberta is saddened to announce his passing at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the age of 81 years.
Arnold was born on July 3, 1941, the middle child of George and Irene Hood. He began his employment career at a very young age, and was extremely proud of the work accomplished and the friends that were made along the way. Arnold was a true friend to all, sharing with everyone his friendly smile and firm handshake.
Arnold will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife Gail Hood; his son Wayne Hood of Winfield; two stepsons Patrick Jamieson of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Michael Jamieson of Calgary; and his stepdaughter Cathy Jamieson of Hazlet, Saskatchewan; as well as six cherished grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
He will also be lovingly remembered by two brothers Clarence Hood of St. Brieux, Saskatchewan, and Melvin Hood of Chelan, Saskatchewan; and two sisters Helen Lakinger also of Chelan, Saskatchewan, and Louise Genielle of Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan; in addition to many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; especially his special friends Lyle and Aggie Dymond.
Arnold was predeceased by his parents George and Irene; his daughter Janice Williams; and a great granddaughter Emma Vrooman.
With respect for Arnold's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. His family and friends will gather in the Summer of 2023 to Celebrate Arnold's Life.
