Aurele Ferdinand Dubé of Bluffton, Alberta, also affectionately known as Al, Bonhomme, Pa, and Papa Bear, passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Al was born near Nobleville, Saskatchewan on February 10, 1933. He worked for several years as a carpenter in B.C. before relocating to Rimbey. Al dabbled in a little bit of everything and enjoyed all of his adventures. Together with his wife, Betty they owned a chicken farm, selling eggs for years, and they also took pleasure in running a deer farm. They opened the Gas & Go in Bluffton which they operated for many years, and Al was also a partner with Economy Concrete and enjoyed building basements.

Al will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 35 years, Betty; his children: one daughter, Sundie (Herman) Kerklaan of Bluffton; and three sons, Ritchie of Kelowna, B.C.; Gary (Shelly) of Rimbey; and Rodger (Wendy Moore) of Summerland, B.C.; and his stepdaughter, Paulette (Derek) Tona of Rimbey; as well as eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by two brothers, Maurice (Eldred) Dubé of Prince George, B.C.; and Larry (Betty) Dubé of Kelowna, B.C.; his brother-in-law, Ron Gettling of Prince George, B.C.; his sister-in-law, Claudia Dubé of Penticton, B.C.; in addition to the mother of his four children, Sharon Hanna; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many great friends and neighbours. Al was predeceased by his parents, Edna (Marquette) and Adeota Dubé; his sister, Clarice; and two brothers, Clarence and Herman.
A Memorial Gathering in Al's Honour will be held at the Rimbey Drop In Centre, Rimbey on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Al's Memory may be made directly to the charity of one's choice.
