Betty Wileen Reimer of Rimbey, Alberta passed away on August 5th 2018 at the Rimbey Hospital at the age of 76.
Betty was born in Calgary to William "Bill" and Fern Bulbeck on May 28th 1942. She was raised on their farm in Bragg Creek. In 1953 they rented a ranch in Cochrane and in 1956 they moved North-West of Rimbey. This is where she completed her schooling, took practical nursing and worked at the Rimbey Hospital.
She met the love of her life and life long partner of 60 years, Ted Reimer. To this partnership four children were added and she stayed home to raise them, as well as attend to their farm activities. Betty's three grandchildren were born and this became her life focus. Betty was also active in various community groups and volunteered for many organizations.
Betty is survived by her siblings, Georgina Lucas, Larry Bulbeck, Linda Olson and Ray Bulbeck; her daughter Brenda (Daryl) Kramer, their son Delane Kramer (Tory) and their daughter Rylee (Joel) Deal; her Son Kevin Reimer (Nadine), their daughter Mara Reimer, and step-children Wesley & Melissa Munce; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, all to which have their own special connection to "our beloved Farm Grandma".
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Rimbey Home Care, FCSS and Rimbey Hospital Care Centre for their support.
A celebration of life of Betty Reimer was held at the Rimbey United Church on Thursday, August 9th at 10 am with Rev Deborah Laing officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Rimbey. If friends desire, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to: Rimbey Hospital Care Centre, Rimbey Kids in Sports, or Rimbey United Church - Camp Kasota.
