Casey John Howard of Rimbey, Alberta passed away unexpectedly near his home on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the age of 41 years.

Casey was born on September 30, 1969 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He attended school in Rosetown, SK, and spent many wonderful summers in Saskatchewan at Emerald Lake and Fort Qu’Appelle. Casey spent the past eight years working side-by-side with Donna Handbury at Classic Embroidery and Embossing. His family, friends, and community meant the world to him. Casey spent countless hours coaching youth sports, and through his involvement in the community he touched and brought light into many lives with his humour and off-beat antics. Casey will be most remembered for his passion and dedication to making the community a better place for all. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Casey was a devoted and loving father to his four children, Cassandra, Corrinna, Mackenzie and Madison. He is survived by his loving partner, Shantelle Boatright and her daughters, Lauren and Noelle; his parents, Karen Juckes (Glen Cyr) of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK; and John and Sandra Howard of Shell Lake, SK; and his siblings, Corey (Erin) Howard of Edmonton; Lisa (Len) Wipf of Rosetown, SK; Ian (Giselle) Howard of Saskatoon, SK; Danny (Brittany) Ratcliffe-Smith of Edmonton; Eden Sinclair and family of Moosomin, SK; Aaron Juckes and family of Edmonton; Esther Van Beek and family of Stony Plain; and Kristina Cote; in addition to the mothers of Casey’s children, Tamaine Geldenhuys and Melodie Howard; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. Casey was predeceased by his grandparents, Alex and Jessie Howard, and Viva and Bill Inch; and his stepbrother, Kelly Juckes.

A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Casey’s Life was held at the Rimbey Community Centre, Rimbey on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dave MacMillan officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
