Catherine passed away on May 15, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Catherine was born on March 8, 1919 in Calgary, AB and was raised in Gadsby, AB. After high school, Catherine attended Alberta College in Edmonton receiving secretarial training. She married Max Taylor of Halkirk, AB in 1939. They raised their children in Halkirk and moved to Calgary in 1967. She was an active member of her community and church. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Max, and daughter, Mariane Spence, in 2003 and great grandchildren, Sarah and Amber Olsen, in 2008. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Kathryn Smith of Santa Barbara, CA and Anna Taylor of Stettler, AB. Catherine is survived by children Jane (Neil) Olsen of Olds, Diane (Ron) French and Malcolm (Linda) Taylor of Calgary, and Cameron (Anne) Taylor of Edmonton. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Grant (Susan) Spence of Olds. She will be greatly missed by grandchildren Jennette (Kelly) Somerville of Victoria, BC, David (Shauna) Olsen of Olds, Andrea Olsen of Calgary, Leanne (Mike) McFadden of Cochrane, Leah Olsen of Lethbridge, Andrew Spence of Edmonton, Karen (Greg) Zazzara of Ponoka, Erin (Kaz) Berjian of Regina, Saskatchewan, Stuart Taylor of Airdrie, and Matthew Taylor of Calgary. She is also survived by great grandchildren Michael, Andrew, Courtney, Julia, Anna, Cameron, Jeremy, and Connor. Funeral Services will be held at St. David’s United Church (3303 Capitol Hill Crescent N.W.) on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
