It is with deep sadness we are to announce that Constance Jeanne Viens of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at Rimbey Hospital and Care Center at the age of 80 on December 26, 2018.
Connie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Robyn, Jeanne, and Graeme and grandchildren Morgen, Jacob, and Samantha. She was adored by extended family, countless acquaintances and enjoyed many close friendships throughout her life, including with her best friend, Mary Jean Clarkson.
As a successful business owner, Connie was a strong-willed and fiercely independent woman. She often took in foreign exchange students or assisted teaching English as a second language. Half her life was spent living in the U.S. in Washington state when Robyn's and Jeanne's father was serving in the military.
Connie will be remembered as an excellent cook and doting grandmother with an everlasting penchant for fashion, musicals, and the finer things in life.
A Celebration of Connie's Life will be announced at a later date. Per her wishes, Connie's ashes will be buried between her parents, Clayton De Witt and Kate Rathbun, in the Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.myalternatives.ca.
