Dale Gerald Rhine

RHINE Mr. Dale Gerald Rhine of Hoadley, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the age of 78 years. Dale was born on April 5, 1927 at Bluff Centre, Alberta. At the age of 16, he moved to B.C. to work as a high rigger. Several years later, Dale returned to Alberta and in 1952, he was united in marriage to Bella Brown of Coronation, Alberta. In 1956, Dale spent three years custom-combining in Montana and in southern Alberta. Over the years, he also worked doing custom-tilling, road construction, and telephone-line construction. When he was younger, Dale even tried his hand at rodeoing. In the Hoadley area, he built and operated numerous sawmills, and operated a honey business. Dale spent 11 years doing charitable work at the Ross Street Soup Kitchen in Red Deer, and other area food banks. “Dale loved and cherished many things in his life ... especially his family and friends. He also had a great love for the outdoors and all wildlife, whether it was a small squirrel, or, in particular ... his pet moose!” Dale will be lovingly remembered by his children, Gerald Rhine of Hoadley; Bonnie Jean Hemming of Camrose; Darlene (John) Grab of Hoadley; and Richard (Dawn) Rhine of Rimbey; his son-in-law, Ray Hemming of Whitewood, Saskatchewan; as well as fifteen grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered by his three brothers, Perry, Leonard, and Harvey; and his two sisters, Lylis Gwyn and Alta Botterill. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Perry Sr. and Grace Rhine; his wife, Bella; his daughter, Mary Jane Rhine; and two sisters, Fern Rhine and Fay Whatle. Memorial Services in Celebration of Dale’s Life were held at the Hoadley Community Hall, Hoadley on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Toby Wong officiating. Interment of Cremated Remains followed in the Hoadley Cemetery, Hoadley. Cremation took place in Red Deer, Alberta.
