Mr. Darrell Frederick Steeves of Hoadley, Alberta passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the age of 49 years.
Darrell was born on January 26, 1959 in Rimbey, Alberta. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and loved to spend time in the mountains; quading, camping, fishing, and especially horseback riding. Darrell treasured every moment he could spend with his children, and later, his grandchildren. He also loved to travel with his wife, Sue. Darrell put his devotion for Christ first and foremost, and served in various leadership roles in his local church, including working with youth. He was a devoted family man, who loved his wife of 26 years dearly, and was very proud to have married his best friend.

Darrell will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Sue; his two sons, Cody (Nicole) Steeves of Rimbey; and Patrick Steeves of Red Deer; and his three daughters, Martina (Chad) Grose of Clive; Melissa Steeves of Red Deer; and Lindsey Steeves (Chase Hansen) of Rimbey; as well as his four treasured grandchildren, Emma, Danette, Ethan and Leigha. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his parents, Jack and Ila Steeves of Hoadley; three brothers, Mervin (Karen) Steeves of Duffield, Alberta; Gene (Lynn) Steeves of Hoadley; and Laverne (Debbie) Steeves, also of Hoadley; and his one sister, Sheila (Reg) McIlwain of Poza Rica, Mexico; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Darrell’s Life was held at the Hoadley Evangelical Missionary Church, Hoadley on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. Barry Klassen officiating. A Family Graveside Service took place at the Hoadley Cemetery, Hoadley at 11:00 a.m. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Darrell’s Memory may be made directly to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0.
