NEUFELD
David E. Neufeld of Rimbey, Alberta went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 29, 2016. He passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Area Three at the age of 92 years.
David was raised by his mother on the family homestead in Lost River, Saskatchewan, along with his family of brothers. David and Ben were the youngest; his father died shortly after the twins were born. David accepted the Lord as his Saviour at the age of 20 years, and he attended the Herbert Bible School with his brother, Ben. David married his sweetheart, Dorothy in 1951. Together they raised three children and lived in many different places in Saskatchewan, B.C., and Alberta. David enjoyed a wide variety of careers throughout his life. His passion was working with wood, both as a craftsman and making lumber with his one-man sawmill. David loved people; visiting friends and family was always a highlight. He had a great sense of humour and was loved by everyone who knew him, but the most important aspect of his life was his strong faith and his spiritual walk.
David will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy; and his children: Gloria Harris of Whitehorse, Yukon; Rena-Mae Neufeld of Rimbey; and Bernie Neufeld of Martinsville, Saskatchewan; in addition to his grandchildren: Lauretta Lee Of Whitehorse, Yukon; and Nathan Neufeld of Eckville; and one great grandchild, Anika. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his twin brother, Ben Neufeld of Abbotsford, B.C.; his sisters-in-law: Tina Neufeld, and Vivian Nichol; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. David was predeceased by his parents, Marie and Henry; and six brothers.
Upon David's request, no formal Funeral Service will be held at this time. In keeping with his wishes, David's final resting place will be with his parents in Lost River, Saskatchewan. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
