KENZLE

In loving memory of our cherished mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Dianne Charlotte Kenzle (nee Pregoda) of Bluffton, Alberta, who passed away suddenly in Melaque, Mexico on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the age of 69 years.

Dianne was born on December 29, 1942 at St. Paul's Hospital in Rimbey. She was the second child born to Charles and Charlotte Pregoda. Dianne obtained her schooling until 1956 at Lavesta, then continued in Rimbey where she attended Grade 9. She kept house for Mrs. Peterson for a while before obtaining a job at the Rimbey Hospital, and in 1962 Dianne went to Edmonton to begin her nursing aide training. On May 25, 1963, she was united in marriage to Clifford Kenzle of Sylvan Lake. They were happily married for 45 years, together raising two children, Steven and Sharon. They lived and worked in Red Deer for ten years before moving to Lavesta in 1973. Dianne joked that it felt like she had traveled back in time, from flushing toilets back to outhouses! She started nursing at the Three-way in Rimbey, then to the Rimbey Hospital from 1975 until December, 2007, where Dianne lovingly became known as "Dr. Kenzle." She was an exceptional nurse that always gave an extra dose of love and care, both to the patients and the staff. Dianne loved her work, her friends, her family, and especially her grandchildren. She also loved to garden, shop for a great deal, and she was an amazing cook. Somehow food from Dianne's kitchen always tasted so much better than from anywhere else, yet sometimes it was a little too spicy for those who were caught unaware! In 1947, she became a member of the Pink Tea Ladies. Dianne possessed a passion to travel, and she always knew of a 'short cut' for her travel adventures... usually along with an empty gas tank! She also absolutely loved Mexico, and couldn't wait to get back down there so she could warm up! Dianne was a prankster, always brimming with laughter, and constantly full of fun. She treasured her family and her wide circle of friends... touching so many lives along the way. She will be greatly missed.

Dianne will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son, Steven (Jackie) Kenzle of Bluffton and their family, Jenna, Connor and Logan; and her daughter, Sharon (Brian) Bergheim of Fort McMurray and their family, Todd, Kyle, Amy and Quinn; as well as one special great grandson, Tristian. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her brother, Dennis (Phyllis) Pregoda of Bluffton; two sisters, Dolores (Leo) Arsenault of Winfield; and Debra (Richard) McMechan of Bluffton; her mother and father-in-law, Ida and Wilfred Kenzle of Red Deer; her sisters and brothers-in-law; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Dianne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clifford in 2009; and her parents, Charlotte and Charlie.

A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Dianne's Life will be held in May of 2012. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Dianne's Memory may be made directly to the Iola Fairview Cemetery Fund, c/o R.R. #2, Bluffton, Alberta T0C 0M0.
